A youth rally organized by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) took a tumultuous turn as workers engaged in a violent clash at a private palace venue in the presence of senior party leaders. Amidst the fervor of the event, tensions escalated, resulting in an altercation where chairs were hurled between opposing factions.

The incident unfolded during the gathering attended by prominent figures including Youth Akali Dal president Sarabjit Singh Jhinjar, former president of the Student Organization of India (SOI) Robin Brar Bhagsar, as well as other key party members. Despite the chaos, senior leaders maintained silence on the matter.

Reports indicate that the brawl erupted between two groups, allegedly stemming from differences within the city’s settlements. Police intervention became necessary as one group was pursued amidst the commotion. Notably, the clash occurred prior to the scheduled address by Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who later seized the opportunity to condemn the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress while urging for the reinforcement of regional parties in Punjab.

The presence of numerous youth workers, invited by Bathinda City President Hashrat Middu Khera, underscored the significance of the rally. However, the violent altercation overshadowed the intended purpose of the event, highlighting internal rifts within the Akali Dal. As the dust settles, questions loom over the repercussions of such discord within the party’s ranks and its implications for Punjab’s political landscape.
