A tragic car-truck collision at Sadar Chowk in Hoshiarpur claimed the life of a woman and left two others seriously injured. The incident occurred when Jaswinder Kumar, a resident of Chhota Bajwara, was traveling in a Nova car with his son Ashu and wife Priya. According to Jaswinder, their car was struck by a truck coming from the opposite direction upon reaching Sadar Chowk.
The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of Priya and injuring Jaswinder and Ashu. Passersby quickly gathered at the accident site and assisted in extracting the injured from the wrecked car. The injured were then rushed to the Civil Hospital, where their condition remains critical.
In the aftermath of the accident, the family members of the deceased woman staged a protest at Prabhat Chowk, alleging foul play. They claimed that Priya had been harassed by her in-laws and was recently called back from Chandigarh under suspicious circumstances. They received a distressing call that Priya had ingested something harmful, and while they were preparing to travel from Nangal to Hoshiarpur, they received another call informing them of Priya’s death in the accident.
The family accused the in-laws of being involved in Priya’s death and demanded justice. The protest prompted the arrival of DSP, who assured the family that a thorough investigation would be conducted. He requested the family to submit a written complaint to facilitate the registration of a case against the accused. The DSP also mentioned that the post-mortem report would provide crucial insights into the cause of death.
This incident has left the community in shock, with many demanding a swift and transparent investigation to uncover the truth behind Priya’s untimely demise. The authorities have promised to leave no stone unturned in their quest for justice.
