On the first day of the budget session, the Lok Sabha was thrown into turmoil as a heated debate erupted over alleged tampering in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG paper. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi faced off in a tense exchange. Gandhi criticized the government for not taking responsibility and failing to address the widespread concerns about the examination system.
During Question Hour, Gandhi expressed frustration, stating that millions of students believe the Indian examination system is fraudulent. He accused the government of blaming everyone except itself and argued that the issues are systemic. Gandhi pointed out that many students think the system favors the rich, who can allegedly manipulate the exams. He urged for a thorough review and systemic changes to restore trust in the examination process.
The debate highlighted the growing dissatisfaction among students and the public regarding the integrity of the examination system. The session underscored the need for transparency and reform to ensure fair and unbiased testing practices.
