“I have always had a good relationship with President Putin and love the Russian people,” Trump stated. He acknowledged Russia’s sacrifices in World War II, highlighting the country’s contribution to the Allied victory. However, Trump made it clear that the war in Ukraine must come to an end.

Trump threatened to impose higher tariffs, taxes, and sanctions on Russian goods if a resolution is not achieved quickly. He emphasized that these measures would not only apply to U.S.-Russia trade but could extend to other participating countries.

The former president has consistently called for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Since the Russian invasion began in early 2022, both nations have suffered significant losses. Trump reiterated his claim that if re-elected, he could resolve the conflict within 24 hours, stressing his ability to bring both sides to the table.

While Trump has previously been criticized for his relationship with Putin, he used this moment to urge a diplomatic solution. “The world is watching, and peace is possible,” he wrote.

The war in Ukraine has entered its third year, with no end in sight. Trump’s remarks signal his intention to make foreign policy a central theme of his campaign, while also putting pressure on global leaders to act. Whether his threats and promises will have an impact remains to be seen.

Trump’s call for peace has sparked global attention, reigniting debates over U.S. leadership in international conflicts.
