Sandeep Dhand Ludhiana
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Trinamool Congress youth wing leader Ashish Pandey in Kolkata today in connection with an alleged corruption case involving the former principal of Kar Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh. Officials confirmed that Pandey, who is believed to have close ties with Ghosh, has been under CBI investigation for his role in the case. The investigating agency had also questioned Pandey on the 30th of this month as part of their inquiry.
Ashish Pandey served as the unit president of the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, a position that gave him significant influence among student activists. The CBI is investigating his possible involvement in financial irregularities and corruption linked to Sandeep Ghosh’s tenure at Kar Hospital.
The arrest is a major development in the ongoing investigation and is likely to have political ramifications. It raises questions about the alleged misuse of power and the extent of involvement by influential individuals in the corruption case. The CBI has indicated that further probes are underway to uncover the complete scope of the allegations and any additional participants involved in the corruption scandal.
