On Sunday evening in Ranaghat, Nadia, the rear guard bogie of a goods train derailed during internal shunting in the goods yard. Despite this incident, train movements on the Sealdah-Ranaghat branch remain normal, ensuring no disruption to passenger services.
The derailment occurred around 6 PM, causing minor damage to the railway infrastructure in the goods yard. However, swift action by railway employees minimized potential delays and ensured continued train operations. Sealdah Eastern Railway’s Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Deepak Nigam, confirmed that efforts are already underway to bring the derailed bogie back on track.
A team of skilled engineers and workers have been deployed to the site, working diligently to clear the tracks and restore the goods train to its normal position. The quick response and efficient management of the situation have been praised by local authorities and passengers alike.
