In a devastating incident that unfolded last night around 10:30 pm near Kasba Uchi Busi on the Jalandhar-Pathankot National Highway, a car carrying five young individuals met with a fatal collision, resulting in the loss of all occupants. The victims have been identified as Raj Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Rishabh, Inderjit Singh, and Abhi, all residents of Jalandhar.
The ill-fated journey began as the group was returning from Pathankot to Jalandhar in their car with the registration number PB 08 DY 1900. The collision occurred when they approached a high bus on the national highway, colliding with a truck moving ahead. The impact was so severe that the car erupted in flames, leading to severe burns for four occupants.
Tragically, one of the car occupants succumbed to injuries while being treated at Civil Hospital Mukerian Puja. The remaining victims faced critical burns, marking a grim turn of events. The seriously injured truck driver, also a casualty in the accident, was promptly transported to Dasuha Civil Hospital. His condition is deemed serious, and he has been referred for further medical attention.
Harprem Singh, the chief of the Dasuha police station, mentioned that the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined. An ongoing investigation is in progress to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. The families of the deceased have been notified based on the vehicle number, extending a grim realization of the unfortunate events.
As the community grapples with the shock and grief of this untimely loss, authorities are emphasizing the importance of road safety and cautioning motorists to adhere to traffic regulations.
