In a tense rescue operation, a two-year-old child fell into a 16-feet deep borewell in Lachayan village, Indi taluka, Vijayapura district of Karnataka. The incident occurred while the child was playing near his house. The situation came to light when cries were heard, prompting immediate action from the family and authorities.
Police, revenue officials, taluk panchayat members, and fire and emergency services department officials rushed to the scene. Despite the child’s voice being unheard, signs of movement inside the borewell raised hopes. Oxygen supply was swiftly arranged to aid the child’s survival.
“The operation commenced at around 6:30 pm to save the child,” stated a senior police officer overseeing the rescue efforts. “Every possible effort is being exerted to ensure the child’s safe retrieval.”
With the entire village on edge, prayers and hopes are pinned on the success of the rescue mission as the community stands united in support of the child’s well-being.
