In an exciting Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter today, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) edged past Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by just four runs in a high-scoring thriller.
Batting first after winning the toss, Lucknow posted a massive total of 238 runs for the loss of just three wickets in their 20 overs. The batting was led by a powerful knock from Mitchell Marsh, who scored 81 runs off 48 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes. Nicholas Pooran played a game-changing innings, remaining unbeaten on 87 runs from just 36 balls, smashing 7 fours and 8 towering sixes. Aiden Markram also contributed well with a steady 47.
Chasing 239, Kolkata Knight Riders fought valiantly but fell just short. They managed 234 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Lucknow’s bowlers held their nerve under pressure. Akashdeep and Shardul Thakur took two wickets each, while Avesh Khan, Digvijay Singh, and Ravi Bishnoi claimed one wicket apiece.
