The meeting between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the junior doctors, who are protesting against the alleged rape and murder incident at Kar Hospital, ended without resolution. A delegation of 30 junior doctors arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence for the scheduled meeting on Saturday evening but refused to go inside, demanding that the meeting be broadcast live.

The West Bengal government had invited the junior doctors to discuss their demands following the incident at Kar Hospital. However, despite repeated appeals from CM Mamata Banerjee, the doctors insisted on a live broadcast of the meeting. Mamata Banerjee suggested a video recording of the meeting, which could be made available with the Supreme Court’s approval, but the doctors remained firm in their demand for a live telecast.

The Chief Minister expressed her frustration, saying that the doctors were humiliating her by refusing to engage in meaningful dialogue. The doctors, on the other hand, claimed they were ready for talks but were allegedly asked to leave informally before the meeting could take place.

Earlier in the day, Mamata Banerjee had visited the protest site unexpectedly, urging the junior doctors to end their strike and return to work. She assured them that their demands would be addressed and that she would make every effort to resolve the situation. However, after her departure, the protesting doctors stated that they would not compromise until their demands were fully discussed and agreed upon.

The situation remains unresolved, with junior doctors continuing their protest while the state government seeks a solution to end the standoff.
