The Supreme Court of India, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and including Justices J.B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, is scheduled to hear the petitions related to the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) examination on July 18. This comes after the hearing initially set for July 15 was postponed.

The adjournment on July 15 occurred because the court noted that some parties involved in the case had not received affidavits filed by the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA). The bench emphasized the necessity for these parties to review the affidavits and prepare their responses before the hearing could proceed.

The petitions under consideration challenge various aspects of the NEET examination process, which is crucial for admission to medical and dental colleges across India. Petitioners have raised concerns regarding the fairness and transparency of the examination, among other issues.

The Supreme Court’s upcoming hearing is highly anticipated, as the outcome could have significant implications for students aspiring to enter the medical and dental fields. The court’s decision will be closely watched by students, educators, and policymakers alike.

The delay in the hearing highlights the importance of ensuring all parties have adequate time to prepare their arguments, underscoring the court’s commitment to a thorough and just examination of the issues at hand.
