The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a plea by AAP leader Manish Sisodia seeking relaxation of his bail conditions. Sisodia, who faces corruption and money laundering charges related to the Delhi excise policy case, is currently required to report to the investigating officer twice a week—every Monday and Thursday.
A bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and KV Vishwanathan has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to submit their responses to Sisodia’s applications within two weeks.
“We will clarify this at the next hearing,” the bench stated, indicating the matter will be reviewed once the agencies file their responses.
It is significant that Sisodia was granted bail by the Supreme Court on August 9 under specific conditions, including his biweekly appearance before the investigating officer. The plea now seeks to ease these restrictions, possibly due to practical or personal reasons.
This case continues to draw attention as it involves a prominent political figure and key allegations of corruption in Delhi’s excise policy. The upcoming hearing will determine whether any changes to Sisodia’s bail conditions will be made.
