The Supreme Court is set to announce its decision today on the bail pleas of AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who is facing charges in corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam. A bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Viswanathan will pronounce the verdict, which had been reserved on August 6.
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 last year for his alleged role in irregularities related to the creation and execution of the now-canceled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) later arrested him on March 9, 2023, in a money laundering case that stemmed from the CBI’s FIR. The upcoming judgment will determine whether Sisodia, who has been in custody for over a year, will be granted bail or remain behind bars as the legal proceedings continue.
