Today, the Supreme Court heard petitions regarding a NEET exam question with two correct answers. The bench, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, reviewed over 40 petitions on the matter. The controversy revolves around question number 19 in the Physics section, which had two correct options. As a result, 44 students were awarded grace marks.
During the hearing, the Supreme Court emphasized the need to investigate the issue thoroughly. The court directed IIT Delhi to form a three-member expert committee to review the question and determine the most appropriate correct answer. The committee, led by the IIT Delhi Director, is required to submit its findings by noon tomorrow.
This marks the fourth hearing in the case, with the next session scheduled for tomorrow. The Supreme Court’s decision to involve IIT Delhi experts aims to ensure a fair and accurate resolution for the affected students. The court’s intervention highlights the importance of maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring that students are evaluated accurately based on their knowledge and performance.
