The Supreme Court has directed the police chiefs of Punjab and Haryana to convene a meeting with the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from Patiala and Ambala within a week to discuss reopening the road at the Shambhu border. The road, which has been blocked, needs to be cleared to ensure the smooth passage of ambulances and other essential services.
The court emphasized the importance of keeping this critical route open for emergency and essential service vehicles, highlighting the need for immediate cooperation between the states. The outcome of this meeting is expected to lead to the reopening of the road, alleviating the issues faced by those reliant on this route for urgent medical and other essential needs.
