In a tragic incident that shook the Jeevan Nagar area, a drug-addicted son, Suraj Bahadur, allegedly stoned his father, Lachman Bahadur, to death during a heated argument. The confrontation, fueled by Suraj’s intoxication, turned fatal as he reportedly struck his father with a brick and a stone, causing grievous injuries. Shocked neighbors responded to the victim’s screams, apprehending Suraj and alerting the authorities.
Upon arrival, officers from the Focal Point Police Station and Chowki Jeevan Nagar took custody of Suraj, while the deceased’s body was secured for postmortem examination. Lachman Bahadur, originally from Nepal, leaves behind two daughters and had been residing in Jeevan Nagar after his wife’s passing. Suraj, described as a laborer battling alcohol addiction, had a history of discord with his father.
The tragic incident unfolded on the night of Holi, as Suraj, inebriated, engaged in a confrontation with his father that quickly escalated into violence. Suraj’s impulsive actions resulted in the loss of his father’s life, leaving the community in shock and disbelief. Investigating officer confirmed that a murder case has been registered against Suraj, with inquiries ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the altercation. The authorities have informed the deceased’s relatives in Nepal, awaiting their arrival for further proceedings.
