At the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2024, held in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan took home the Best Actor award for his role in the film “Jawan.” Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal” won the Best Film award, while Rani Mukherjee was honored as Best Actress for her performance in “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway.” The event was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and film producer Karan Johar.
Punjabi singer Bhupinder Babbal stood out, winning two major awards. He was named Best Playback Singer for the song “Arjan Valley” from “Animal” and also received the Best Lyricist award for “Satranga.” The music of “Animal” also earned recognition for its team, with Bhupinder Babbal, Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bharadwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Jani, Ashim Kemson, and Harshvardhan Rameshwar collectively winning the award for Best Music Direction.
Singer Shilpa Rao won the Best Playback Singer award for her song “Chalaya” from “Jawan.” Vidhu Vinod Chopra bagged the Best Director award for his film “12th Failure.” Anil Kapoor was awarded Best Supporting Actor, while Bobby Deol was named Best Actor in a Negative Role for “Animal,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Shabana Azmi took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.”
Hema Malini received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema, acknowledging her contribution to the industry. Alizeh Agnihotri was recognized as the Best Actor Debut for her performance.
The IIFA event was filled with memorable performances. Vicky Kaushal received loud applause when he danced to “Tauba Tauba,” and Shah Rukh Khan also performed to his hit songs. Singers Karan Aujla and rapper Honey Singh added to the night’s excitement with their high-energy performances, making the awards show a night to remember.
