In a harrowing incident at Khanna intersection today, a school bus overturned after being struck by a trolley amid thick fog. The collision occurred when a private school bus, carrying two children along with the driver and helper, was stationary near Gurdwara Sahib on the canal road, waiting to pick up a teacher.
The bus driver asserted that he had safely parked the bus on the roadside, intending to collect the teacher. Tragically, a trailer laden with goods collided with the bus while overtaking a van. The impact caused the bus to overturn, heightening concerns for the occupants.
Swift response from the local authorities, including the arrival of S.H.O. from the Doraha police station, ensured that no lives were lost in this alarming accident. Fortunately, all two children, the driver, and the helper managed to escape the overturned bus unharmed.
Attributing the incident to dense fog, the bus driver’s statements and those of the trolley driver are currently under investigation by the police. The authorities are diligently piecing together the sequence of events, aiming to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this near-tragedy.
