In a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of unprecedented governance issues. Addressing a rally in Khanna to support BJP candidate Geja Ram Valmiki from Fatehgarh Sahib, Singh made sharp remarks about the AAP government, highlighting recent controversies and scandals.
Singh commented, “I have heard of ‘work from home’, but today, for the first time, I am hearing about ‘work from jail’. AAP, the ruling party here, doesn’t need to tell us what kind of work it’s doing. Their leader, Kejriwal, was implicated in the liquor scam but remained in office, claiming he would work from jail.”
The Defense Minister’s remarks come in the wake of allegations against the AAP government, with key leaders facing legal challenges. Singh criticized Kejriwal for not stepping down despite the accusations, suggesting that the integrity of the office was compromised. He emphasized that governance requires transparency and accountability, which he claimed were lacking in AAP’s administration.
Singh also referred to the alleged physical assault of AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal at Kejriwal’s residence, using it as an example of internal discord within the party. “He (Maliwal) was badly beaten, and now Kejriwal is addressing the nation as if nothing happened,” Singh said, questioning the party’s commitment to its members and principles.
Turning his attention to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Singh critiqued Mann’s allegiance to Kejriwal. “The Chief Minister of Punjab considers Kejriwal as his leader. If his leader is embroiled in such issues, one can only imagine the state of his own governance,” he remarked.
Singh’s speech underscored the BJP’s stance on ethical leadership and effective governance, positioning it as a stark contrast to the AAP’s current controversies. The rally aimed to galvanize support for BJP’s candidate Valmiki, with Singh urging voters to choose leaders who uphold integrity and accountability in public office.
