In a thrilling encounter at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Rajasthan Royals secured their third consecutive win of the season in the IPL by defeating the Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai faced their third consecutive defeat in three matches.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Rajasthan’s decision proved fruitful as their bowlers dominated from the start. Trent Boult’s impressive spell saw the dismissals of Rohit Sharma, Devald Brevis, and Naman Dhir in the very first over, setting the tone for Mumbai’s innings. Despite efforts from Ishan Kishan, Tilak Verma, and skipper Pandya, Mumbai struggled against Rajasthan’s bowlers, managing only 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Chasing a target of 126 runs, Rajasthan encountered some early setbacks with the dismissals of Jaiswal, Butler, and captain Sanju Samson. However, a brilliant innings of 54 runs by Ryan Parag, including 5 fours and 3 sixes, guided Rajasthan to victory in 15.3 overs, marking their third consecutive triumph in the tournament.
