In a thrilling encounter between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in the IPL, Rajasthan secured their second consecutive win of the season, triumphing over Delhi by a margin of 12 runs.
Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Delhi Capitals invited Rajasthan to bat. Rajasthan posted a formidable total of 185 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, propelled by a stellar innings from Ryan Parag, who smashed 84 runs off just 45 balls, complemented by Ashwin’s quickfire 29 off 20 balls.
In pursuit of 186 runs, Delhi Capitals got off to a flying start with David Warner and Mitchell Marsh putting on 30 runs in just 3 overs. Warner fell short of a half-century, scoring 49 runs off 34 balls before being dismissed. Despite Rishabh Pant’s valiant effort with 28 runs off 26 balls, Delhi struggled to maintain the required run rate.
Tristan Stubbs’ late onslaught kept Delhi’s hopes alive, but Rajasthan’s Sandeep Sharma and Avesh Khan’s stellar bowling in the death overs restricted Delhi to 173 runs. Consequently, Rajasthan emerged victorious by 12 runs.
Nandre Berger and Yuzvendra Chahal scalped 2 wickets each for Rajasthan, while Avesh Khan accounted for 1 dismissal.
