Punjab is currently sweltering due to high humidity and heat, with the slow monsoon failing to provide much-needed relief. However, the Meteorological Department has brought good news by issuing a rain alert for several districts. The districts included in the alert are S.A.S. Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, S.B.S. Nagar, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, and Gurdaspur. These areas can expect heavy rain accompanied by lightning, strong winds at speeds of 40 km/h, and dusty conditions.
Furthermore, monsoon rains are predicted to hit the state after July 22. Residents are advised to avoid standing under trees during the rain due to safety concerns. Today, the Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert, and there is also a forecast for light to moderate rain in the tri-city area of Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali. This anticipated rainfall brings a sigh of relief for the people enduring the severe weather conditions in Punjab
