In a sharp speech in the Lok Sabha today, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gandhi asserted that spreading fear, hatred, and lies does not align with Hindutva. His comments came during the discussion on the motion of thanks regarding the President’s speech.
During Gandhi’s speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interrupted, stating that labeling the entire Hindu society as violent is a serious issue. In response, Gandhi clarified that the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) do not represent the entire Hindu society.
Rahul Gandhi went on to reference other religions, including Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism, emphasizing that all faiths promote bravery. He accused the BJP of attacking the Constitution and the fundamental idea of India in a calculated conspiracy.
Expressing his satisfaction at being elected as Leader of the Opposition, Gandhi stated, “This is more than coming to power for us.” His speech has ignited significant debate, underscoring the ongoing political tensions and ideological differences within Parliament.
The Congress leader’s remarks have drawn both support and criticism, reflecting the deeply polarized political landscape of the country. The discussions are expected to continue, highlighting the challenges and conflicts in the current political discourse.
