Punjab and other parts of North India have been experiencing severe cold, which led many states to extend school holidays. In Punjab, winter vacations were initially announced until January 7 due to the extreme cold. However, the weather has improved, with sunny days bringing some relief. As a result, there is no news of further extension of school holidays in Punjab, and according to the orders, all schools in the state will reopen on Wednesday, January 8.
The winter holidays in Punjab began on December 24, following the Punjab Education Department’s announcement. Initially, the break was set to end on December 31, but due to the harsh cold, the holidays were extended until January 7.
Now, with a noticeable change in the weather, schools across Punjab are set to resume on January 8. While some states, such as Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, have extended winter breaks until January 11 due to ongoing cold, Punjab’s improving weather conditions have led to no such decision.
Students and teachers in Punjab can now prepare to return to schools, as the state’s education department expects normal operations to resume due to the favorable weather change.
