As schools in Punjab prepare for the commencement of the new academic session from April, the state’s Education Department has made comprehensive arrangements. Following the Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) held on March 28, schools are set to adjust their timings effective April 1.
According to the Education Department’s academic calendar, primary schools will operate from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, while middle, high, and senior secondary schools will run from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. These timings will remain in place until September, providing consistency and stability to the school schedule.
This adjustment marks a change from previous timings, where primary schools operated from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, and middle, high, and senior secondary schools functioned from 8:30 am to 2:50 pm. The revised timings aim to streamline the school day while ensuring adequate time for academic instruction and extracurricular activities.
As students and educators prepare to embark on a new academic journey, the implementation of revised timings reflects the Education Department’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience for students across Punjab.
