Punjab Finance Minister Assures Adequate Funding for Punjabi University Amidst Record-Breaking Budget

In a resounding commitment to the financial well-being of Punjabi University, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema declared that the Punjab government is unwavering in preventing any financial deficit for the esteemed institution. Speaking at an event during the ongoing 37th North Zone Inter-University Youth Mela at Guru Teg Bahadar Hall, Cheema emphasized that this government, under the AAP banner, stands as the first to augment the grant for Punjabi University during its two-year tenure.

Cheema, a former student of the university, expressed a personal connection, stating that he cannot allow the alma mater that played a pivotal role in shaping his journey to face any crisis. He lauded the AAP government’s record budget allocation for health and education, demonstrating a commitment to uplifting academic institutions.

Addressing the gathering, Cheema applauded the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Arvind, for tireless efforts aimed at enhancing the university’s overall development. Expressing gratitude for the government’s financial support, Professor Arvind highlighted the significance of the timely assistance provided by the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister.

Professor Arvind acknowledged the substantial support received when it was most needed, emphasizing the government’s crucial role in fortifying the university. Prior to the function, a meeting was held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, attended by the registrar Navjot Kaur, OSD advocate Tapinder Sohi, and others, where the government’s commitment to Punjabi University’s prosperity was reiterated.
