Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Waring has strongly criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, accusing him of capitulating to the Center and Haryana government amid the ongoing farmers’ movement. Waring pointed out the alleged excesses committed by Haryana Police in Punjab, emphasizing the need for a robust response from Punjab Police on the Punjab-Haryana border.

Waring asserted that while they do not advocate violence, farmers should be allowed to voice their concerns in the capital. He demanded compensation for the family of the youth killed in Khanuri during the recent clashes. Blaming the BJP for discrimination against a turbaned police officer in West Bengal, Waring pledged steadfast support from Congress if farmers seek political backing for their agitation.

During his visit to Bathinda to participate in the Shobha Yatra on Guru Ravidas’s birth anniversary, Waring questioned the silence of leaders like Sukhbir Singh Badal and Sunil Jakhar on farmers’ issues. The Congress leader affirmed the party’s unwavering support for the farmers and their cause.
