In a proactive move, Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C visited the state-level media monitoring cell today, ensuring a robust framework for monitoring news outlets in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections-2024. The media monitoring cell, established in adherence to the Election Commission of India’s directives, is set to intensify its activities post the implementation of the election code.
Sibin C underscored the pivotal role of media in fostering a strong democracy, urging responsible reporting during the elections. He emphasized the need for accurate and truthful information dissemination to the public. Assuring full cooperation, he conveyed the Election Commission’s commitment to a fair electoral process.
The State Level Media Monitoring Cell, managed by Information and Public Relations Department officials and social media experts, is diligently monitoring newspapers, news channels, social media platforms, and web channels. This effort aims to ensure compliance with Election Commission instructions and rules. Additionally, the cell is actively disseminating crucial information about Lok Sabha Elections-2024 to the media, fostering transparency and awareness.
The visit to the media monitoring cell witnessed the presence of officials from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, reinforcing the commitment to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
