Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused the BJP-led central government of undermining democracy and neglecting areas affected by natural disasters, especially Wayanad, which was hit by landslides. Addressing crowds in Theratmal and Engapuzha, she criticized the central government’s approach, accusing it of ignoring promises made to assist landslide victims. Priyanka highlighted that despite Prime Minister Modi’s visit to affected areas and his assurance of help, no substantial action has been taken.

She expressed that the BJP’s focus remains solely on staying in power, even if it means neglecting those in need. Comparing the situation in Wayanad to Himachal Pradesh, she said people impacted by natural calamities are often overlooked by the government. Priyanka emphasized that Congress, even without power in the Centre or Kerala, will raise the issues of Wayanad residents in Parliament.

During her campaign, Priyanka also visited the Sethi Haji Memorial Football Stadium, where she met young football players and pledged her support for youth development and sports initiatives in Wayanad.
