Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bathinda on February 25, marking a significant milestone in advancing healthcare infrastructure. AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. Rajiv Gupta and spokesperson Dr. Tarun Goyal shared details at a press conference, mentioning that the absence of AIIMS Director Dr. Dinesh Kumar Singh, who was out of Bathinda.
The inauguration extends beyond Bathinda, with four additional AIIMS facilities scheduled for inauguration across the nation. This monumental project, crafted at a cost of Rs 925 crore, boasts a 750-bed hospital complex equipped with emergency, trauma, ICU, and super-specialty units. Notably, it holds a capacity of admitting 100 medical college students annually, and its nursing college is geared to accommodate 60 students.
The AIIMS Bathinda facility signifies a major leap in healthcare infrastructure, bringing advanced medical services to the region. The inauguration event is anticipated to be a momentous occasion, showcasing the commitment to enhancing healthcare access in the country. With state-of-the-art amenities and a focus on medical education, AIIMS Bathinda aims to contribute significantly to the healthcare landscape of the region.
