The central government has officially removed President’s Rule from Jammu and Kashmir by issuing a notification today. This decision has opened the door for the formation of a government in the Union Territory.

In the recent elections for the 90-member assembly, the National Conference emerged as the largest party, winning 42 seats. The Congress secured six seats, while CPI(M) claimed one seat. The BJP performed well in the Jammu division, securing 29 seats.

With the election results finalized, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah recently met with Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, formally submitting his claim to form the next government.

The removal of President’s Rule signifies a crucial step toward restoring normal governance in Jammu and Kashmir. This move also reflects the region’s political progress, as parties are now in a position to negotiate and establish a government that will represent the people of the Union Territory.

The upcoming political developments will be closely watched, especially as parties work to form alliances and secure majority support in the assembly. The focus now shifts to how this new government will address the region’s challenges and work towards development and stability.
