Subsequently, Mr. Modi met with President Murmu to submit his resignation and that of his cabinet ministers. President Murmu accepted the resignations and requested Mr. Modi and his ministers to continue in their roles until the new government is formed. The current term of the 17th Lok Sabha is set to end on June 16.

Following the resignation, Mr. Modi also met with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. The dissolution of the 17th Lok Sabha marks the end of its term and sets the stage for the formation of the new government, which will take office following the recent elections.

The prompt actions taken by both the President and the Prime Minister underscore the smooth transition of power as India prepares for its next phase of governance. The nation now looks forward to the establishment of the new Lok Sabha and the realization of the promises made by the newly elected representatives.
