During her two-day official visit to Slovakia, Indian President Droupadi Murmu attended a unique puppet show based on the Indian epic Ramayana. The 45-minute performance was presented in the local Slovak language and was enjoyed by around 150 Slovakian children. The event highlighted the deep cultural ties between India and Slovakia and was held in the city of Presov.

The show was organized by Lenka Mokova, a devoted follower of Lord Krishna and a great admirer of Indian culture. Mokova is a key member of the ‘Babadlo Puppet Theatre’ and is popularly known as Srivanti Devidasi. She created the program with a blend of spiritual inspiration and artistic vision. So far, she has held 20 similar shows in various cities of Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Mokova shared her deep connection with Indian traditions and said, “I have been a devotee of Krishna for the last 17 years. I love the story of Ramayana because it is full of emotions, love, and values.” Her efforts received great appreciation from both children and adults in the audience.

President Murmu also visited an art exhibition where paintings made by Slovakian children were displayed. These artworks reflected their understanding and appreciation of Indian stories and culture.

India’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Apoorva Srivastava, explained the purpose behind organizing such programs. “We wanted to introduce Slovakian children to Indian culture. These children can become cultural ambassadors for both countries,” he said.

The event served as a beautiful example of cultural exchange, showing how art and stories can connect people across the world.
