President Draupadi Murmu on Thursday called upon all citizens to contribute toward cleanliness, stating that a clean India is essential for the country to become healthy and developed. Speaking at the ‘Safai Mitra Summit,’ she praised Indore for maintaining its top position in the national cleanliness survey for the seventh consecutive year and commended Bhopal for being the capital of the cleanest state in the country, Madhya Pradesh.
The President expressed her happiness in honoring Safai Mitras (cleaning workers), acknowledging their crucial role in keeping the nation clean. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts under the Swachh Bharat Mission, which aims to transform India into a clean and hygienic country.
In her address, President Murmu appealed to the citizens to take active steps in promoting cleanliness, as it directly contributes to the nation’s health and overall development. She encouraged people to continue working towards a cleaner, healthier India, hoping that such efforts would unite the country in its journey toward progress.
