Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese today after addressing the 21st India-ASEAN Summit. Modi expressed his pleasure in meeting his “friend” Albanese in a separate interaction, sharing his sentiments in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He mentioned, “I am happy to meet my friend Prime Minister Albanese.”
In addition to his meeting with the Australian leader, Modi held discussions with other key leaders during the summit. He met with Philippine Prime Minister Bongbong Marcos and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, highlighting the strengthening ties between India and these nations.
Modi also engaged in talks with Japanese leader Shigeru Ishiba, discussing further cooperation between India and Japan. Additionally, the Indian Prime Minister had a significant conversation with Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, focusing on global economic trends and India’s growing role in the global economy.
The meetings are part of Modi’s efforts to bolster India’s diplomatic relations with key international players and ASEAN nations, promoting cooperation in various fields, including trade, security, and economic development. These high-level engagements are expected to contribute to strengthening India’s global partnerships.
