Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency. The hospital, operated by Kanchi Math, will offer treatment for various eye diseases. It is expected to benefit people from 20 districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh as well as nearby areas of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. This is the 14th hospital established by the Kanchi Math across the country.
Before the inauguration, PM Modi met with the Shankaracharya of Kanchi Mutt and attended an exhibition alongside Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The hospital is seen as a major healthcare facility for the region, providing essential eye care services.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi was welcomed at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport by CM Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries. During his one-day visit to Varanasi, the Prime Minister is also set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth Rs. 6,100 crore. These initiatives are part of his ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and healthcare services in the region.
