Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 20.8 km long corridor of the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project on Monday. During the event, he traveled in the metro and interacted with young passengers. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel accompanied him. PM Modi shared pictures from the metro ride on his ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle, writing, “Inaugurated the second phase of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project and left for today’s program with energetic youth.”
The second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro project connects the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Motera with Gandhinagar Sector 1. This metro expansion aims to enhance transportation facilities between key locations in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, easing travel for commuters. The project is expected to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the area, benefiting residents and visitors alike. With the inauguration of this phase, the Ahmedabad Metro continues to be an essential part of the region’s infrastructure development plans.
