Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of making false election promises, which he says has exposed the party to the public. Modi highlighted that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge recently advised the party’s state units to only make financially feasible promises, acknowledging the challenges of implementing impractical pledges.
Modi said the Congress is now realizing that it’s easy to make big promises during elections but hard, or even impossible, to deliver on them. He urged citizens to be cautious of what he termed the “culture of false promises” associated with the opposition.
Referencing recent elections in Haryana, Modi claimed voters rejected Congress’s promises and chose a stable and progressive government instead. In a post on X, he emphasized that “people of the country have to be wary of the culture of false promises of the Congress,” underscoring his belief that the party has misled the public by offering unrealistic solutions that they knew couldn’t be delivered.
In his statement, Modi reiterated that hollow promises might win support temporarily but are bound to fail, leading people to lose trust in the party making them.
