Residents of Haryana brace for inconvenience as petrol pumps across the state are set to shut down for two days, March 30 and 31, in protest. The Petroleum Dealers Association has announced a complete halt in the supply of petrol and diesel, citing dissatisfaction with the non-increase in their commission.

The decision was made following a meeting convened by the association members in Ambala, attended by petrol pump operators from seven districts of Haryana. Expressing frustration over unaddressed grievances, the operators have resolved to stage a protest by closing all petrol pumps during the specified period, refusing to dispense fuel to consumers.

The association has reiterated its longstanding demands, emphasizing the need for fair consideration and action. Despite previous appeals, their concerns remained unaddressed, prompting this decisive action. In a stern warning, they have threatened an indefinite strike if their demands are not met, signaling potential disruptions in fuel supply during the upcoming elections.

The impending closure of petrol pumps underscores the urgency for authorities to engage with the concerns raised by the Petroleum Dealers Association. As the deadline approaches, stakeholders anxiously await a resolution to avert further disruptions and ensure the uninterrupted availability of fuel for the residents of Haryana.
