A petition was filed in the Supreme Court today, requesting the Election Commission to hold re-elections for 20 Assembly seats in Haryana. The petition claims that the election results in these seats are questionable due to faulty Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Filed by Priya Mishra and Vikas Bansal through lawyer Narendra Mishra, the petition also demands that the Election Commission publish the election data from all three rounds along with Form 17C and issue election certificates. The petitioners allege that the Election Commission declared the results from the EVMs as accurate, despite reported issues with the battery capacity of some EVMs.

It is claimed that some EVMs functioned with a battery capacity of 99 percent, while others operated at less than 80 percent. On the vote counting day, October 8, some EVMs reportedly functioned with 99 percent battery capacity, while others worked with 60-70 percent. The petition aims to ensure transparency and accuracy in the election process
