On the second day of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, members took the oath of office and secrecy, marking the beginning of their parliamentary terms. Among them, Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Bihar’s Purnia, made a striking appearance.
Yadav arrived at the Parliament wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with “Re-NEET,” signaling his demand for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) to be conducted again. This act of protest caught the attention of many, highlighting the ongoing concerns about the fairness and transparency of the NEET-UG exam process.
After taking his oath, Yadav reiterated his demand, urging the government to address the grievances of numerous students who have raised issues about the conduct and results of the recent NEET-UG exam. He emphasized that a re-examination is necessary to ensure justice and equal opportunities for all aspiring medical students.
Yadav’s protest reflects the growing unrest among students and parents regarding the NEET-UG examination. As the session progresses, it remains to be seen how the government and other parliamentarians will respond to this demand and whether any measures will be taken to address the concerns raised by the MP from Bihar.
