P.A.U. Gears Up for March Farmer Fairs, Focused on Agri-Business and Prosperity

Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming farmer fairs at Punjab Agricultural University (P.A.U.), with the first Kisan Mela scheduled for March 5 in Amritsar. The series of events will continue with Ballowal Sonkhri on March 7, Bathinda on March 12, and culminate in a two-day fair at the P.A.U. campus on March 14 and 15.The schedule includes Faridkot on March 18, Gurdaspur on March 20, and Patiala on March 22.

This year’s Kisan Melas aim to support agri-business, enhance family well-being, and ensure profitable outcomes for farmers. The focus is on raising awareness among farmers about diversifying income sources within agricultural families. The fairs will feature agricultural exhibitions, equipment shops, and opportunities to purchase seeds for kharif crops, agricultural literature, as well as fruit plants and vegetable seeds.

Highlighting outstanding contributions, forward-thinking farmers across various fields will be honored during the events. P.A.U.’s farmer fairs stand as a pivotal platform to empower farmers with knowledge and resources for a thriving agricultural ecosystem.
