New Zealand, in response, posted a strong total of 402 runs, with all 10 wickets down, giving them a commanding lead. In India’s second innings, they fought back, managing to score 462 runs. However, this left New Zealand needing just 107 runs to win.
New Zealand comfortably chased the target in 27.4 overs, losing only 2 wickets along the way. Their solid batting performance led them to a convincing victory, concluding the match with an 8-wicket win. With this win, New Zealand now leads the series 1-0, securing an important victory in the 3-match contest.
The series will continue with two more matches, giving India a chance to bounce back and level the score.
