NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has announced that the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising the NCP, Congress, and Shiv Sena (UBT), has reached a general agreement on the allocation of 200 out of the total 288 seats for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Pawar made this statement while speaking to reporters in Satara district, Maharashtra. The alliance aims to finalize the remaining seats soon.
Pawar also stated that the Haryana election results would not influence the outcome of the Maharashtra elections. When asked about his role in the seat-sharing talks, Pawar clarified that he is not directly involved in the discussions regarding the distribution of seats among the allied parties.
The MVA alliance is seeking to maintain its unity and strengthen its position ahead of the assembly polls, aiming to challenge the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra. With a broad understanding on seat sharing, the three parties are expected to launch their campaign in the coming days.
