PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him the biggest terrorist after Adolf Hitler. She accused Netanyahu of turning Palestine and Lebanon into “gas chambers,” similar to Nazi practices, after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s killing. In response, Mehbooba paused her election campaign for a day to show solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
Speaking to PTI, Mehbooba emphasized that the International Criminal Court had passed a verdict against Netanyahu, deeming him a criminal responsible for thousands of deaths in Palestine and now continuing the violence in Lebanon. She condemned the Indian government’s decision to establish relations with Israel under Netanyahu’s leadership, calling it a mistake.
Mehbooba stressed that India’s historical position has always been in support of Palestine, a stance that dates back to Mahatma Gandhi’s time. Regarding her labeling of Nasrallah as a martyr, Mehbooba responded to criticism, saying that the party in power should focus on addressing the country’s internal protests rather than attacking her views.
Her remarks reflect her disapproval of the ongoing violence in Palestine and Lebanon, and her disagreement with India’s current diplomatic stance towards Netanyahu’s administration.
