Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Thursday urged the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to halt its “bulldozer politics” and instead develop a strategy to address the increasing incidents of wild animals attacking people in human settlements. She highlighted that in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, wild animals have been attacking children, the elderly, and even young people, causing distress among laborers and the poor who struggle to gather fodder for their livestock.
Mayawati emphasized the need for the government to take immediate action to control the wild animals, as their presence poses a significant threat to the safety and livelihood of the local population. She also urged the government and the Samajwadi Party to leave “bulldozer politics” to the Supreme Court, where she expects fair justice.
In her statement, the former UP Chief Minister also condemned a recent incident in Basti district, where a private ambulance driver allegedly attempted to molest and rape a patient’s wife. Mayawati called the incident “shameful” and demanded that the government take strict action against the accused driver to ensure justice and safety for women in the state.
