In a devastating incident early this morning, a fierce fire engulfed a yarn industry in Koom Khurd village, situated on Kuhara Road, Ludhiana. The blaze, suspected to have started around 4-5 am, was first noticed by a vigilant security guard on duty at the mill, who spotted smoke billowing from the warehouse.
Prompt action was taken as the fire brigade was immediately alerted. Subsequently, 11 fire brigade vehicles from Ludhiana, Samrala, Doraha, and Khanna rushed to the scene to combat the inferno, which was eventually brought under control after strenuous efforts.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. However, the financial toll is expected to be substantial. The mill suffered extensive damage, with yarn, wool bales, and the warehouse shed bearing the brunt of the blaze. Initial investigations point to a short circuit as the likely cause of the fire, as stated by factory owners.
While the full extent of the damage is yet to be assessed, the owners lament the significant economic setback incurred by the catastrophic event. The community awaits further updates on the aftermath of this tragic incident.
