A massive fire broke out in the Lotus Bluebird Society, Sector 100, Noida, following an air conditioner explosion amid the ongoing heatwave in North India. The blaze began in a flat where the AC unit reportedly exploded, leading to a devastating fire that quickly engulfed the entire apartment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire spread rapidly to neighboring flats, causing panic among residents. Videos circulating on social media depicted heavy smoke billowing from the upper floors of the residential tower, illustrating the severity of the incident.
Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene. Fire safety officials successfully managed to extinguish the fire, preventing further spread and potential damage to more flats in the building. “The fire has been put out, and the situation is under control,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
Despite the intensity of the blaze, there have been no immediate reports of casualties. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and the extent of the damage. Residents of the affected building have been temporarily evacuated as a precautionary measure.
The incident has raised concerns about fire safety measures in high-rise buildings, especially during the summer months when the use of air conditioners is at its peak. Residents are urged to ensure that their AC units are well-maintained to prevent similar accidents in the future.
