West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, launched a scathing critique against the BJP during a public distribution program in Raiganj, North Dinajpur district. Expressing her opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), Banerjee accused the BJP of strategically resurrecting the issue ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. She vehemently declared, “Let me make it clear that as long as I am alive, I will not allow this to be implemented in West Bengal.”

Banerjee’s remarks come as a strong assertion against the BJP’s stance on the controversial CAA. Her commitment to blocking its implementation in the state during her lifetime adds a fervent dimension to the ongoing political discourse. The Chief Minister criticized the timing of the BJP’s focus on CAA, suggesting it was a calculated move in the lead-up to the elections.

As West Bengal gears up for political battles, Banerjee’s resolute stand against the CAA signals a contentious issue that could shape the electoral landscape. The clash of ideologies surrounding the CAA is likely to be a focal point in the political narrative as the state braces for the upcoming elections.
