In an exciting encounter at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Lucknow Supergiants emerged victorious against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 28 runs. Bangalore’s captain, Faf Duplessis, opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Lucknow posted a competitive total of 181 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
In response, Bangalore got off to a promising start with a solid partnership of 40 runs between Virat Kohli and Faf Duplessis. However, once Kohli departed, Bangalore struggled to maintain momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite efforts from the middle order, Bangalore fell short, managing only 153 runs in their 20 overs.
Lucknow’s young fast bowler, Mayank Yadav, showcased his talent by taking 3 crucial wickets for just 14 runs in his 4 overs. Naveen Ul Haq also contributed with 2 dismissals, while Marcus Stoinis and M. Siddharth claimed 1 wicket each, restricting Bangalore’s chase.
Lucknow’s impressive performance with both bat and ball secured them a well-deserved victory, further adding to the excitement of the ongoing IPL season.
